Hazard Pavilion

Professor: Brent Sturlaugson and Hanna Dewhirst - Summer 2022

Completed in the Summer of 2022 this research fellowship project was designed to serve the community to provide a shade structure for the popular kayak spot along the river in the Summer months. Working from the existing pathways this shaded spot provides an extension of the circulation of the area, as well as a modulating wood pattern to accommodate vertical kayak storage, a seating plane and a standing plane for paperwork. This shed was completed in collaboration with Rosemary Harmes with the ambition of serving the community year-round by providing views for nearby basketball courts and the nearby river.

This project was completed with a grant in the Summer of 2022 as a summer research fellowship.
