Playscape Memorial

Professor: Jordan Hines - 2019

In honor of previous University of Kentucky employee Sarah West, this contemplative playscape is proposed at the Lexington Friends Preschool to be an addition to their current playground. By creating a flexible grid system of durable wooden boxes, this area creates moments of curiosity and wonder is fully integrated with native plants reinforcing the learning of gardening and plant study for children. These adaptable and buildable boxes create a sense of peace and enclosure while honoring Sarah West’s personality of nurturing and play.
